What is the best time to post to Facebook? 

 

This is probably one of the most common questions in our industry, “When is the best time to post to Facebook?”

Up until now there hasn’t been a true way to identify the correct time unless you spend many hours tracking each post, the share, the like, the comments, how many clicked through to your website, etc. Each business is unique, their customer base is unique, therefore results will differ between Business A and Business B simply because or the differences in their approach, messaging or one of a 100 different factors.

As a rule of thumb for most businesses, you follow these simple rules for posting on Facebook:

  • Post between 8-6 pm 
  • Ideally 8am-11am & 2pm-6pm
  • Post Monday – Friday

Page Insights allows you to track your Facebook marketing better than ever before, below you’ll see snap shots of the data you can look at. This is valuable information, as it will also help you with the second most common question we receive “What Should I Post About?”. Page insights will not only allow you to see when your fans are online, what your audience is, time of day, hour of the day, etc. But it will also show you the type of messages that perform best with your fans.

Just like advertising your product or service, you need to track what works and what doesn’t. Those results provide information needed to ensure your advertising yourself efficiently.  It’s even more important for social media because of the number of factors that you have to take into consideration; time of day, message, audience demographics, etc. Remember, when you’re marketing your business through traditional media or online, remember to track, track and analyze. If you don’t spend the time to track your results through Page Insights, you’re just posting into the wind. Facebook is a very effective way to market your business, it just takes time. Keep in mind, if someone has liked your page, you already have their attention.
