WHAT YOU CAN DO TO MARKET YOUR RESTAURANT
You have more business then every right now. This is the only place people can go so marketing your market or grocery store during COVID-19 may not seem important but it is, especially if you’re a smaller grocer or market.
People are flooding stores looking for everything from cleaning supplies to groceries. Where you can get an advantage is by posting what you have in stock. Customers are going from store to store looking for items. Let them know what you have in stock daily, don’t simply assume they know or will come. Show them!
If your hours have changed or you expanded them for first responders, tell them!
HOW TO USE DIFFERENT OUTLETS TO MARKET YOUR MARKET OR GROCERY STORE
If applicable, send out emails when you have essential items people are looking for such as: dairy cleaning supplies, canned goods, paper towels, toilet paper for example. If you’re doing a weekly special, make sure everyone is getting one.
If you don’t have customer email addresses, let them know what you’re doing and start building your email list. This will greatly pay off for future marketing.
Post daily. This is the simplest thing you can do. This isn’t a time to run promotions or highlight specials, people want to know what you have. Take photos or video of stock shelves, essential items in stock, great looking produce sections. This alone will get people to come to you.
For local markets & grocery stores, you’re up against the large players. They have large marketing budgets; they’re still outspending you. Use organic posts and paid posts on social media to increase your reach. Being in the industry you’ll know when larger players may be out of specific items weekly, use those days to push the items you still have in stock. You will get people in the door.
