HOW TO APPLY FOR FACEBOOK GRANTS PROGRAM DURING COVID-19
Facebook has announced they are providing Grants to small businesses that have been affected by COVID-19. Facebook is giving $100 million dollars of grants to 30,000 small businesses that have been affected by COVID-19. These grants are only available to select locations where Facebook operates. As you can imagine, timing is essential. With limited funds available, you’ll want to apply immediately.
Additionally, once your location has become available for applications, you have two weeks to apply before the application deadline.
As of April 20th, the following locations are accepting applications:
- New York Metropolitan Area
- Seattle, WA
- San Francisco Bay Area
To find out when your location will be available for applications, follow this link to see all available locations for Facebook Grants. Here you’ll be able to add your email address to be notified when your location is open. All eligible locations should be available on April 22nd.

Below are the steps to take in order to apply for Facebook’s Small Business Grant
Check The Grant Application Availability In Your Area
You have two weeks to apply for a grant with Facebook. Check available locations, if available apply now. If not, enter your email address and get notified when you’re allowed to.
Check To See If You’re Eligible
- You’ve been impacted by COVID-19
- Been in business over 1 year
- Have 2-50 employees
- Be near a location where Facebook operates
- Must be a for-profit company
Get Your Documents Together
You’ll need the following to apply
- Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN)
- Partnership documents
- Business license
- Proof of incorporation
- Official registration
- Contact Information
- Summary about your business
How You Plan To Help Your Community
Facebook wants to know how these funds will directly help your community? What impact they’ll have on your business? Explaining how you will use these funds may be the most important process. With limited grant funds, Facebook wants to know that the money they are putting in place will help businesses, employee’s and the community.
Grant Approval Time
Facebook states this process should take a few weeks. As you can imagine there will be many applications, there will be a follow up process with additional questions after they review your application. They’ll announce the grant recipients after the review process.
WHY IS FACEBOOK OFFERING A GRANTS PROGRAM DURING COVID-19
Facebook provided this grant program to help small businesses that were impacted by COVID-19. Like many tech companies, Facebook understands small businesses are essential and doing this will help the grant recipients with keeping your workforce going strong, it will help with rent or mortgages, it will cover operational costs and allow you to connect with more customers, clients and/or patients.
Additionally this is an opportunity for Facebook to engage with new potential advertisers that haven’t used Facebook. The Facebook Small Business Grant consists of cash and ad credits ($2,500 cash & $1,500 Facebook Ad Credits). The cash can be used as needed to help with payroll and/or operational costs. The Ad Grants are to be used with Facebook’s Ads Manager. Offering you a way to advertise your business to existing and new customers, clients or patients.
